Buyer Connection: source metal with a clear brief

A practical path from a material requirement to supplier conversations and a checked proposal.

Updated 1 min read

Begin with your application and buying specification. Then use the marketplace to review published materials or post a buy request for the supply you need.

Prepare before contacting a supplier

Write the grade, form, condition, dimensions, quantity and destination. Decide when you need delivery and which documents or inspections matter. Use the specification checklist to resolve missing details.

Review the supplier and the lot

Check the business identity through independent channels. Ask whether the counterparty owns the stock or is sourcing it, where the material is held and whether the offered quantity is still available. Treat an old directory entry as historical information.

Open a private proposal

Sign in to send a proposal against a published listing. Include the offered quantity, unit price, currency, delivery basis, named place, payment terms and validity. Discuss outstanding requirements in the deal room.

Make the final decision

Compare offers on the same basis. Confirm the final contract, inspection, settlement and delivery with your counterparty. MetalSite does not hold transaction funds or guarantee stock availability.

This updated guide replaces the old Buyer Connection instructions, including obsolete hotline numbers and auction references.
