Write the delivery basis into the quotation and final contract. The Incoterms® rule, named place or port, and edition belong together.
Choose a rule for the movement
ICC distinguishes FCA, which can serve any transport mode, from FOB, which concerns delivery on board a vessel at a named shipment port. ICC recommends considering FCA for container movements handed to a carrier before loading on board.
Specify the place
Use a precise location, for example “FCA [full collection address], Incoterms® 2020”. This is a formatting example, not a selected rule for your purchase. Identify the point that matches the agreed operation.
Confirm the remaining terms
Record loading arrangements, packaging, shipment window, inspection and documentation. Agree payment, ownership transfer, applicable law and remedies separately. Delivery terminology alone does not settle all of these questions.
The MetalSite proposal form includes a delivery term and named place. Keep the same basis in the comparison and final documents. Consult the official ICC rules for the transaction.
